In 1987, a college friend named Herman B Cheatham Jr asked me to be his best man. I traveled from Illinois, spending a night in Clarksdale, MS.

That’s when I first met my “good thing”

The next day I left for the remainder of the trip, but had to return to Clarksdale to see my “good thing” again.

After a year of long-distance communication, we were married on a very hot Saturday, with friends and family bearing us witness.

Since that time we’ve lived in 4 states, traveled thousands of miles in the ministry, and been blessed with 3 wonderful children who have been zero problems for us.

We’ve been rich and poor.

We’ve been healthy and sick.

And, all this while my “good thing” has given me the favor of God.

This anniversary was breached by me being in the hospital, casting a shadow over our future together.

But God’s favor met me in that ICU … I believe because of my “good thing”!

Lord willing, we’ll be raptured together, so as never to be apart.
