Warmer temperatures are here, which means it's that time of year...pothole season. Michigan weather provides prime pothole conditions as this County Road Association of Michigan graphic illustrates. As snow melts, water seeps under the pavement and freezes when the temps inevitably drop again - creating potholes.

The spring and summer months are dedicated to road maintenance, repair and construction - including pothole repair and preventative maintenance. Macomb County Department of Roads maintenance crews continue to patch potholes and monitor road conditions.

To report a pothole, visit roads.macombgov.org/Roads-Home-Request and complete the online request form. Be sure to select "Road Maintenance" as the reason for your request so it is sent to our Maintenance Department.

Whenever I talk about distracted driving, I get cut off and people go on a rant about people doing everything behind the wheel...

If you can't drive without your phone...Perhaps you should reevaluate your habits.

News from Lansing overnight. Once again change is coming and agents have to explain what Lansing cannot.

As I tell all my clients and potential clients, rate hikes are out of our hands in offices and only repeated letters from voters can have an impact on their decisions.

Look up your local lawmaker and write a letter, email, or call them on the phone and tell them Michigan has to change rates for the better of ALL!

This year's hike to $220 per vehicle beats the high water mark set last year.
