The Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 through December 7. During this time, eligible Medicare beneficiaries can review their current coverage and make certain changes for the coming year.

Plans and personal healthcare needs can change, so it’s worth taking a thoughtful look at your doctors, prescriptions, pharmacies, healthcare priorities and potential out-of-pocket costs. Avoid making assumptions based only on last year’s coverage or someone else’s experience.

When reviewing Medicare coverage for 2027, look beyond the monthly premium.

A plan’s overall fit can also depend on copays, coinsurance, prescription coverage, pharmacy costs and other out-of-pocket expenses. Extra benefits may be helpful, but they should be considered alongside the healthcare services you actually use.

Before making a decision, review your doctors, prescriptions, preferred pharmacy and expected healthcare needs for the coming year. A lower advertised premium does not tell the whole story.
