✨MEET KAYLA, THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE 🐝HIVE TEAM!! ✨
We are beyond excited to FINALLY introduce Kayla as our Designated Loan Processor for HIVE Lending Partners 🐝
Kayla joined the 🐝HIVE team at the beginning of this year, and over the last several months, she’s truly found her home here with us.
We wanted to give Kayla the opportunity to really settle into her role, grow within the 🐝HIVE family, and become fully immersed in the day-to-day heartbeat of what we’re building here before officially introducing her — and over these past several months, she has exceeded every expectation we could have had for this role. Introducing her is honestly over due. 🤍
For many of our clients, Kayla is the caring expert behind the scenes, guiding loans from application to closing day. This role requires a rare mix of traits: you have to be incredibly detail-oriented and organized, but also patient and dependable. It isn’t a position for just anyone, because our clients deserve someone who treats their loan like it truly matters. And Kayla does exactly that.
🏠 A LEGACY OF GRIT & GUSTO
Kayla didn’t just find her way into this industry — she was raised in it.
Her mother, Kristen — founding partner of HIVE — became a licensed Realtor when Kayla was only four years old. Growing up in that world gave Kayla a rock-solid foundation in the ins and outs of real estate — from attending open houses as a little girl to learning the communication, organization, and administrative work that helps make every transaction successful.
But beyond the traditional side of real estate, it was Kristen’s passion for property investing and flipping where Kayla learned the true value of building wealth.
During those dusty demo days and home transformations, Kayla developed vision at a very young age and inherited the “gusto” required to see potential where others simply see a mess.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, she began investing in real estate herself at the young age of 22 alongside her now-husband Ryan, when together they purchased their very first flip project — an outdated 2-bedroom, 1-bath house that they completely transformed into a beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bath multi-level family home.
What started as a fixer-upper turned into an incredible success story, ultimately generating a six-figure NET profit on their very first renovation project — something most seasoned investors spend years trying to achieve 🙌
As life continued evolving, Kayla and Ryan got married, started a family of their own, and continued building on that strong foundation of hard work, determination, and real estate investing.
🔨 A NEW CHAPTER IN EAST TENNESSEE
Later, Kayla and Ryan decided it was time to take a leap of faith and begin a brand new chapter in East Tennessee — one of the most highly sought-after regions in the country for families looking for a better quality of life.
With incredible growth happening throughout the Knoxville area, expanding opportunities, and the beauty of simple country living nestled near the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, they knew this was where they wanted to plant roots and build their future.
Today, Kayla is taking all of those lifelong lessons and making them her own. She and Ryan recently took on a distressed pre-foreclosure property they immediately saw potential in and are currently living in the home while completely renovating it together — proving they both share the same vision, grit, and “get-your-hands-dirty” work ethic that has been part of Kayla’s DNA since childhood.
🐴 THE HEART OF A HOMESTEADER
Outside of the office, Kayla’s life is deeply rooted in a simpler way of living.
Born and raised in Chester County, PA, she grew up surrounded by horses and the hard work of farm life at her family’s farm, Stoned Goat Farm, which officially closed its doors in the summer of 2023.
An equestrian since childhood, horses have always been a major part of Kayla’s life. Over the years, she spent time riding, training horses, and even teaching riding lessons — something that helped shape the patience, discipline, and calm demeanor she carries into her everyday life and work.
When Kayla moved to East Tennessee with Ryan and their daughter Blake, there was never a question whether her horse would be coming too 🐴
Today, while slowly renovating their home, she is simultaneously building a beautiful homestead life of her own — complete with fruit and vegetable gardens, ducks, cats, and two giant dogs, Charlie and River.
She’s even passing that lifestyle down to her little “mini-me” daughter, who’s been riding horses since she could sit up 🥹
And with another little one on the way this summer, the Shearer homestead is about to get even livelier 💛
