Subsidies for Medicare Part D Plans will be ending in 2027. This funding was part of the Inflation Reduction Act. The purpose of the funding was to help lower the cost of Medicare part D prescription drug plan monthly premiums.

The ACA’s enhanced premium tax credits are at the center of the ongoing government shutdown. The tax credits have more than doubled Marketplace enrollment, but they will expire at the end of this year if Congress doesn’t act to extend them.

MNsure CEO Libby Caulum is in Mankato and Rochester today with other state leaders to raise awareness about potential federal actions that could harm Minnesotans’ health. Over 12,000 people in Minnesota’s 1st congressional district who buy health insurance through MNsure will pay more for coverage next year – an increase of $229 more per month, on average – if Congress fails to extend current tax credits.
