The Five Star Club recently embarked on a thrilling 2-Night Mystery Trip! Participants were completely unaware of their destination or plans!
The adventure kicked off with lunch at Cracker Barrel in Davenport, followed by clues from "Miss Lil" that led them to Champaign, Illinois. Upon arrival, they were greeted at the hotel with an assortment of snacks and wine, before heading to Philo Tavern to meet more intriguing characters of the mystery and enjoy a lovely dinner.
The next day featured a private breakfast, a tour of Flesor’s Candy Kitchen, and then an unexpected encounter with a sheriff and a prisoner who briefly halted the bus to es**rt them to lunch at Thirty Six Saloon, one of Indiana's largest biker bars. They then stopped at Bridgeton to explore its covered bridge, the working mill, an ice cream shop, and the surrounding area, all while enjoying the picturesque waterfall at the mill. Members then explored the Jailhouse Inn and Drunk Tank, complete with wine sampling. The trip reached its peak at Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch in Rantoul, Illinois, where they solved the mystery and interacted with reindeer, even getting to "kiss" them by feeding them graham crackers! To top it off, they enjoyed a wagon ride for a brief tour of the farm, followed by a classic chuckwagon meal and fantastic entertainment.
The final day included a visit to the William Staerkel Planetarium for an impressive presentation on the Northern Lights, along with a tour of Magic Motors, a remarkable private collection of antique cars and other fascinating items. The trip concluded with a delightful lunch at Silver Creek, accompanied by live music from a talented trio!
What an incredible three days!
