The Five Star Club recently took a trip to Colorado!

Upon arrival in Denver, members toured the Colorado State Capitol and enjoyed balcony views of the city. Next, they explored Rocky Mountains National Park, stopping at Rainbow Curve and visiting Estes Park to see the historic Stanley Hotel – the inspiration for Stephen King’s The Shining. Some even tackled the high-altitude trail to 12,005 feet!

Their journey continued through Colorado’s stunning landscapes:
• Colorado National Monument: Filled with breathtaking, underrated views.
• Black Canyon of the Gunnison: Features steep rock walls and a scenic picnic lunch.
• Durango & Silverton Railroad: A relaxing train ride with wildlife sightings.
• Mesa Verde National Park: A UNESCO site showcasing the ancestral Puebloan civilization and cliff dwellings like Cliff Palace and Spruce Tree House.

They finished the trip with a scenic drive across Wolf Creek Pass to Colorado Springs. There, members rode the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit for staggering views and ended the final day marveling at the towering sandstone formations in the Garden of the Gods. It was a fabulous trip with a wonderful group of Five Star members!

The Five Star Club enjoyed a beautiful, action-packed day trip to Boone, Iowa, this past Thursday! Their first stop was the scenic Iowa Arboretum, followed by an insightful tour of the Farm Progress grounds. Next, they immersed themselves in local history at the Boone Historical Society and visited Mamie Eisenhower’s birthplace. To wrap up the day, they toured the Fareway Distribution Center, where members got a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how they ripen bananas. It was a wonderful day filled with great company and learning!

The Five Star Club enjoyed an exciting Mystery Day adventure this month, beginning at Kendrick Forest Products in Edgewood, IA, where they discovered the intricacies of log processing and material repurposing. Following this, they enjoyed a brat lunch and took a delightful tour of the Great River Maple farm, which included tastings of their delicious maple syrup.

The journey continued with a visit to the Sherman Swift Tower, dedicated to the Chimney Swifts, before heading to the Garnavillo Historical Society's Museum and exploring additional local attractions. The day wrapped up with a breathtaking scenic overlook and ice cream at Pearl's Diner, creating a memorable day filled with learning and exploration in Iowa.

The Five Star Club recently enjoyed a trip to The Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, WI, to enjoy The Million Dollar Quartet. What an incredible performance featuring remarkable talent!

Members savored a delightful lunch prior to the show and had some time to explore the local shops before taking their seats for this fantastic event. It truly was a wonderful day!
