CEO James H. Sills III was honored last week at the Triangle Business Journal 2026 Community Champion Awards as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award — recognizing more than a decade of leadership at the helm of one of the most storied financial institutions in North Carolina.

This honor belongs not just to Mr. Sills, but to every customer, community partner, and team member who has been part of the M&F Bank story. Our very own Senior Commercial/SBA Lender, Kevin Davis, had the honor of attending the Light the City Impact Dinner hosted by First Calvary Baptist Church in Durham. A special evening celebrating the inaugural Light the City initiative and the incredible impact it made across our community.

What started as a vision brought together organizations, businesses, community leaders, and neighbors to serve thousands of Durham families through utility assistance, school supplies, food, health resources, household necessities, and other critical support.

M&F Bank was proud to be part of this effort, as investing in the well-being of our neighbors is our mission.

What an honor. 💛

M&F Bank had the privilege of participating in the 3rd Annual Y.E.S. Awards Ceremony — and we left inspired.

Our team presented awards to young people who competed in the Kids Invest Game and delivered Shark Tank-style business presentations — the next generation of entrepreneurs and investors, showing up and showing out. 🦈📈

Students walked away with monetary awards and framed stock certificates for one share of a stock of their choice. Volunteers who dedicated their time and talent throughout the year were also recognized for their commitment to youth empowerment.

And we are humbled to share — M&F Bank received an award for our financial support and volunteer activities throughout the year.
