📢 NEBRASKA Medicaid Work Requirements Start May 1, 2026 📢

Beginning May 1, 2026, Nebraska will implement new Medicaid work requirements for certain adults ages 19–64 enrolled in Medicaid expansion.

What this means:
✔️ Some individuals must work, attend school, volunteer, or participate in job training to keep coverage
✔️ The rules apply mainly to those in the Medicaid expansion (Heritage Health Adult) program
✔️ Nebraska is the first state in the nation to roll this out—months ahead of the federal timeline

⚠️ Important impact:

Reports indicate tens of thousands of Nebraskans could lose coverage if requirements aren’t met.

If you or someone you know has Medicaid:
👉 Watch for notices from the state
👉 Make sure contact information is up to date
