A few years ago, I remember sitting in my car after another long day at the dealership, just staring at the steering wheel.

I hadn’t even made it home yet, and I was already dreading doing it all over again the next day.

From the outside, everything probably looked fine.
But I was exhausted.

I remember thinking, there has to be a different way to do this.

Around that time, a friend of mine left the car business to become a financial advisor.

So, I called her and asked, “Do you think this is something I could actually do?”
She didn’t over complicate it. She just said, “Yeah, I do.”

That one conversation changed everything for me.

I didn’t leave everything behind, though.
One thing I carried with me is this:

Big financial decisions make people nervous.
Buying a car.
Planning for retirement.
Figuring out what to do with money you’ve saved or inherited.

Those moments matter, and most people don’t need more pressure on them.
They need someone who slows things down, listens, and helps them think clearly.

That’s what I try to bring into conversations now. Nothing fancy.
Just showing up the way my friend did for me.
