If you’re turning 65 soon and are unsure about what it means to enroll in Medicare, you are not alone. One of the most common questions we hear from those nearing retirement is around the timeline for signing up for Medicare.

So, we wanted to share a few important reminders to help you stay on track:

✅Know your enrollment window. Your initial enrollment window lasts for seven months — three months before your 65th birthday, your birthday month, and three months after your birthday. Enrolling early in this timeframe can help ensure your coverage begins right when you need it.

✅Understand how to sign up. Some individuals are automatically enrolled in Original Medicare, while others need to take action themselves to enroll in Original Medicare. This often depends on whether you are already receiving Social Security benefits.

✅Do not delay without a plan. Waiting too long to enroll without qualifying coverage can result in delayed coverage start dates and ongoing late-enrollment penalties.

✅Be aware of other options. If you are still working and covered under an employer plan, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that can allow you to defer your enrollment. However, missing all enrollment windows can limit your options and increase costs, so it's best to clarify this early.

Medicare decisions can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate them alone. Whether you are approaching 65 or are simply evaluating your options, contact us for guidance tailored to your situation.

With National Senior Fraud Awareness Day on May 15th, we wanted to reach out to go over several common scams making the rounds so you can quickly identify potential scam messages.

✅ Tech Support Scams - Fraudsters impersonate reputable tech support representatives and claim there is a problem with your device. They seek remote access or payment to "fix" issues that don't exist.

✅ Government or Medicare Impersonation - Scammers pose as representatives from Medicare, the Social Security Administration, or other agencies to collect personal information or payments. Real agencies do not solicit such data by unsolicited calls, texts, or emails.

✅ Family Imposter Scams - Criminals pretend to be a loved one in distress and pressure you to send money immediately.

✅ Sweepstakes, Lottery, and Prize Scams - You are told that you have won money but must pay fees to collect your "winnings."

✅ Romance or Investment Scams - Scammers build emotional trust online, then exploit it for financial gain.

We hope these tips are helpful as we all navigate an increasingly online world. As always, if you have questions or need guidance within our area of expertise, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to help.

May is filled with moments that remind us what determination, courage, and perseverance can accomplish. Here are a few historic milestones we are reflecting on this month:

🏅 May 1, 1915 - Olympic gold medalist Archie Williams was born in Oakland, California. He won the 400-meter race at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and later served as a pilot and instructor for the Tuskegee Airmen, leaving a legacy that extended far beyond the track.

🏇 May 17, 1875 - The first Kentucky Derby was held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, beginning a tradition that would grow into one of the most iconic events in American sports.

✈️ May 20, 1932 - Amelia Earhart became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, completing her transatlantic journey and cementing her place as a trailblazer in aviation history.

These moments continue to shape conversations around leadership, equality, innovation, and ambition.

MARCH 2026

National Nutrition Month

Healthy eating focuses on finding balance—it’s not all or nothing. As such, eating right
doesn’t need to be complicated. Healthy eating starts with nutritional food choices,
which include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, protein and dairy. A balanced
diet also leaves room for personal preferences.

*Nearly 1 in 3 adults are overweight. *About 70% of the nation’s food supply is considered “ultra-processed.”

*About 1 in 7 households experience food insecurity.

This month, assess your eating habits and educate yourself about the best ways to
fuel your body. It comes down to making informed food choices and developing
sustainable, healthy eating and physical activity habits.

03/16/2026

As we step into March, we're reminded that this month is all about movement — winter is fading, spring is on the horizon, and it’s the perfect time to reset and refocus.

Progress doesn’t always need to be fast. What matters most is that you keep going. Here’s to finding your balance and making meaningful strides all month long.

How are you keeping your momentum going this March? We’d love to hear in the comments!
