Most consumers don't want to feel like a number. It's the same for me as a licensed mortgage loan originator. Even though I offer competitive interest rates and loan products, you shouldn't work with me solely because of that. You should work with me because:

1. I'm available most evenings/weekends when you need payment estimates and pre-approval letters most.
2. I have over 27 years lending experience, understand lending guidelines, and know how to successfully get my customers to the closing table.
3. I advise my customers as if it were my own money in terms of finding them their best loan option/fit.

Intangibles matter.

I think I’m going to learn to like Hybrid mortgage closings very quickly. Had my first closing as Highlands Mortgage yesterday and because the buyer e-signed about half of their closing documents before meeting at the title company’s office, the purchase closing took less than 15 minutes!

More and more customers have been requesting “soft” credit pulls instead of “hard” credit pulls when applying for pre-approvals BUT there are limitations with soft credit pulls. We don’t get all 3 credit agencies’ scores so it’s difficult to accurate quote interest rates and PMI costs. Also, we can’t check for the possibility of an appraisal waiver before making an offer with a soft pull only. Everyone’s situation and timeline for purchasing a home are different though so it’s a good idea to talk through your options with us up front.
