On January 8th, we wished a happy retirement to Dana Abbey and Robin Ridley!
Dana Abbey spent most of his life (43 years) working at Dryden Mutual. Dana had a huge impact on the development of creative underwriting with his unique ways of thinking outside of the box. His unique practicality and instinct for accepting risk has paved the way for Dryden Mutual to carve out several product niches. These niches have facilitated exponential premium growth over several decades. While Dryden Mutual grew in premium and employees, Dana has successfully taught dozens of DMIC employees how to look at a risk with a creative mindset to help meet the needs of our agents and insureds seeking coverage. That culture is fundamental to our success at Dryden Mutual today and any agent that has a history of doing business with us, will certainly tell you the same.
Robin Ridley has retired after 41 years! She has contributed to our success as she worked closely with Dana crafting our underwriting philosophy, especially in commercial lines. Robin never hesitated to help an underwriter, answer an agent’s inquiry, quote a risk directly, or even accept a late career transition for the good of the Company. She is kind, willing to help wherever needed and always put the good of the organization first. She ascended to her current officer role at Dryden Mutual because of her ability to skillfully evaluate and rate a risk. Through hard work, creative thinking, and commitment to her craft, she quickly rose to be considered one of our best commercial underwriters.
We wish Dana and Robin a happy and healthy retirement!
