When comparing inland marine insurance and equipment floater coverage, the differences matter, but so do the similarities. Understanding both can help you make more informed decisions about your business insurance strategy.

While these coverages serve different purposes, they do share several important characteristics, including:
✅ Both are designed for property that is not confined to a single, permanent location.
✅ Both help bridge gaps left by standard commercial property policies.
✅ Both typically provide protection against common risks like theft, damage, and certain weather events.
✅ Both are essential for businesses that transport materials or equipment between jobsites.

At the end of the day, the right coverage for your business depends on the types of equipment and materials you use, how frequently they are transported, and where they are stored. Many contractors benefit from a combination of both broader inland marine coverage and more targeted equipment protection.

That said, if you are unsure whether your current coverage accurately reflects how your business actually operates, now is a good time to review your options. Our team is more than happy to help you review your coverage and determine if adding additional policies are right for you.

In conversations about self-care and family health, we often emphasize the usual: nutrition, exercise, and mental well-being. But let's not forget an equally critical, but often-overlooked aspect: routine eye exams.

Regular eye checkups go beyond just adjusting our vision with the correct lenses. They serve as a crucial gateway to detecting more significant health issues:

☑️ Hypertension: Changes in the eye's blood vessels can reveal high blood pressure.
☑️ High Cholesterol: A yellowish patch on the upper and/or inner parts of your eyelid might indicate high cholesterol levels.
☑️ Autoimmune Disorders: Inflammation in the eye can signal autoimmune diseases, including lupus.
☑️ Thyroid Disease: An unusual bulge in the eyeballs could be a telltale sign of thyroid issues.
☑️ Cancer: Abnormalities in eye structure can point toward ocular melanoma, and a close look at the eyelids can reveal basal cell carcinoma.

If it's been some time since your last eye exam, let's change that. Finding an optometrist nearby and scheduling an appointment is simpler than you might think.

As always, reach out with any coverage questions or needs. We’re here to help you prioritize your health!

As you’ve likely seen, group health plan costs continue to rise. Higher premiums are being driven by medical trend increases, pharmacy costs, and changes in utilization. Because of this, many employers are facing increased budget pressure while trying to support their employees and manage expectations during renewal periods.

The good news is that controlling costs doesn’t have to mean reducing benefits or shifting more expenses to employees. The real objective is to improve your cost-to-coverage ratio and ensure that every dollar spent delivers meaningful value.

Swipe for a few key methods to help you evaluate and manage rising health plan costs.

If rising health care costs are creating uncertainty for your organization, feel free to schedule a consultation. I’m happy to review your current strategy and identify practical ways to improve efficiency without unnecessary disruption.

Life has a way of moving quickly, and certain changes, whether expected or not, can affect your health insurance coverage in ways that aren't always obvious at the moment.

Some life events trigger a Special Enrollment Period, a 60-day window before or after the event during which you can enroll in or update your coverage outside the standard Open Enrollment Period. If any of the following have happened in your household over the past year, it may be worth a conversation:

🔵Getting married, divorced, or welcoming a new child into your family
🔵Moving to a new ZIP code, county, or state
🔵Turning 26 and coming off a parent's plan, or losing job-based coverage
🔵Changes in your income or household size
🔵Turning 65 and becoming eligible for Medicare, or becoming a U.S. citizen

If anything on that list sounds familiar, we'd love to connect to see how we can help you during a Special Enrollment Period. Give our team a call, and we can get started.
