Y’all may be following me but have no idea who the heck I am. So if that’s you, keep reading. (If not, you can keep reading, but this might bore you lol.)

My name is Lindsey Menezes (formerly Lindsey Harrington before I got married to my husband Nick in October 2019).

I am a financial advisor and CFP® professional. I’ve been doing financial planning since I graduated from Grove City College with a B.S in Finance in May 2019. I got started in this field because 1) I love helping people and 2) I love numbers (I am a true math nerd).

I worked for a small financial planning practice in State College (home of Penn State) for two years before moving back to Bucks County, PA to be closer to family. I’m now with a firm called Foundations Financial Partners, but I am an independent contractor. That means that I am an entrepreneur just like many of you!

In addition to my husband, my family consists of two cats: Luna and Basil. They are the loves of my life. 💖

Outside of work, Nick and I spend a lot of time at our gym ( shoutout to ) and our church.

If you have any other questions, I am literally an open book. Ask away!

Let me tell you a story about one of my entrepreneur clients, Amanda. (She also happens to be my sister.)

Amanda approached me last year because she was wondering if she should form an S Corp to reduce her taxes.

She had started her business (wedding videography) in 2020. Despite getting started during a literal PANDEMIC, her business picked up steam in no time.

At some point in the last four years, her net business income surpassed the $100k milestone that we all dream of when first starting out.

However, once she started making some real money, she began to feel doubts about how best to manage that money - especially when it came to tax planning.

She had an accountant, but he wasn’t really doing the tax planning that she was looking for (a VERY common problem that I see with my clients).

She started doing research on her own, but she was having trouble putting the puzzle pieces together.

So she came to me. I helped her map out the potential tax savings by forming an S Corp. And after getting the accountant’s “blessing”, she decided to move forward with the S Corp.

She may save thousands in taxes in 2025 from this move alone.

How about you?

As entrepreneurs, we want to make sure that we are maximizing the profit from our businesses.

To maximize profit, you can either increase revenue or decrease expenses. There aren’t any ifs, ands, or buts about it.

We can certainly work as hard as possible to increase revenue, but minimizing unnecessary expenses is just as important.

And unfortunately, we entrepreneurs face an expense that no one else faces: self-employment tax.

At a rate of 15.3%, this is one ugly tax. For many entrepreneurs, it is by far their largest expense.

Wouldn’t you like to figure out a way to lower this as much as possible?

If that’s you, sign up for my FREE upcoming workshop on January 9. Link in bio.

P.S. The strategy usually only works if your net business income (revenue minus business expenses) is at least $100k. But even if that’s not you, it doesn’t hurt to attend and learn something that you will be able to implement in the future!

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

I hear a lot of complaints from my clients about the lack of tax planning coming from their accountants.

That’s because the average accountant isn’t doing tax planning. They’re doing tax accounting.

What’s the difference?

Tax planning involves looking at someone’s situation and offering up strategies that can lower their future taxes.

Tax accounting is simply looking at someone’s activity over the last year and calculating what they owe the IRS.

One is forward-looking. The other is backward-looking.

Which one are you looking for?

If you want to learn about a forward-looking tax reduction strategy available ONLY for entrepreneurs, sign up for my free upcoming workshop on January 9. Link in bio.

P.S. There are good accountants out there that do tax planning. They’re just few and far between.
