As October comes to a close, we’re wrapping up our Women’s Small Business Month celebration by highlighting our final women-owned business, Lauren Yochem of Embrace Nutrition in Pipestone!

Founded in 2020, Embrace Nutrition offers a variety of options including energy teas, non-caffeinated hydration drinks, protein shakes, coffees, protein balls and convenient tea kits.

For Lauren, though, the business is about more than what’s on the menu. Embrace Nutrition is locally owned and operated with a focus on community and wellness.
“We absolutely love being a hub for healthy options in our community,” Lauren said.

Throughout National Women’s Small Business Month, we’ve been proud to introduce you to varies women behind businesses throughout the communities we serve. Barbara Becksted began her massage practice in 1994 after discovering a passion for helping others through wellness and healing. Today, Acacia Studios is home to three massage therapists, a wellness coach, yoga and other class offerings. 🤸

Over the years, Acacia Studios has also served as a launch pad for other practitioners, something Barbara is especially proud of. She describes the women who have learned, grown, and moved forward from the studio as a blessing both to her and the community.🌱

🏠More recently, Barbara transformed space in her 139-year-old building into The Historic Cozy Lofts, short-term rentals in the heart of downtown Cannon Falls. The lofts welcome visitors coming to town for weddings, area trails, canoeing, nearby attractions and everything the community has to offer.

After more than three decades of serving others, Barbara describes the approach behind what she does simply as, “from the heart”. ♥️

🌟With an incredible 42 years behind the chair, Goldie’s passion for hairstyling hasn’t faded. Five years ago, she brought her business home to Spring Valley, the community where she grew up.

What keeps her inspired after more than four decades? There’s always something new to learn. Goldie recently returned from a large hair show in Fort Lauderdale and continues to build her expertise, especially in the area she loves most: hair color. 💇‍♀️

✨Based in Austin and founded in 2024, 507 HYDRO, LLC provides residential and commercial services including hydroseeding, erosion control, grading, rock landscaping, fertilizing, overseeding and dethatching. 🪴

For the team at 507 Hydro, building a business has also meant finding ways to give back. One moment they are especially proud of was hydroseeding for the Mower County Humane Society and sponsoring the adoption fee for Sasha, a long-term resident dog. 🐶

🌟 St. Paul’s skyline gets its glow back tonight. 🌆 The iconic “1st” atop the First National Bank building – home to our St. Paul branch – has been dark since 2024, but the new owners are lighting it up again, with the relighting happening tonight, August 6th, at Kellogg Mall Park. Great to see a piece of St. Paul history glowing once more. 🎉
