Lighthouse Credit Union

Lighthouse Credit Union Lighthouse Credit Union is built for the people who keep the lights on — our neighbors, families, and community members. Every member, every dollar counts.

With branches across New Hampshire and Maine, we provide everyday banking and financial services for members nationwide. As a purpose-driven credit union, we strive to make a positive impact. Since our start in 1936, our focus has been building a brighter future with our members. Today, we’re building a whole new way of banking—where every dollar makes impact. Our services and banking tools help f

acilitate real structural change in our communities and help members build healthy finances. Whether it’s a project to help alleviate the housing crisis or to put funds toward community health, we’re making money work for the good. A credit union is a not-for-profit financial institution. 🎒 Recently, our Foundation brought together team members to help more than 500 families get ready for the year ahead at the Rochester School District’s Start Strong Back-to-School Community Resource Fair!

From connecting students and families with valuable community resources to distributing free backpacks and school supplies, and even providing free haircuts, this event helped local students head into the new school year feeling confident and prepared.

Throughout September, we’re combating food insecurity by teaming up with our Foundation, as well as the New Hampshire Food Bank and WMUR, to support local food pantries in need.

Our New Hampshire branches will be supporting NH Tackles Hunger, collecting various nonperishable items such as canned foods, pasta, and cereal boxes.

Our Maine branches theme is Protein for Pantries, focusing on the need for protein-rich foods by collecting items like canned tuna, canned chicken, canned ham, and canned beans.

Because ending food insecurity is a key part of our vision, our Foundation will be doubling your impact by matching up to 1,000 cans.

Together, let’s make a difference for the communities we serve!

🤝 One of the many nonprofits we supported during our Day of Service was York County Head Start.

This incredible organization ensures children are prepared to succeed in school and in life. From high-quality child care and education to family programs that support those facing difficult circumstances, Head Start is there for its neighbors.

To help lighten the load, some of our team members spent the day beautifying the property through various landscaping projects, helping to create a more welcoming environment for those they serve.

🎓 It's back to school season, and while we're cheering on all students, we're especially excited to celebrate and send off our 2026 Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation Scholarship recipients as they take the next step in their educational journeys!

This year, we celebrated some of our winners where their stories began - right in their home branches. These students represent the bright future of our communities, and we're honored to support them along the way.

Good luck this school year!

Happy National Lighthouse Day!

At Lighthouse Credit Union, National Lighthouse Day is more than a moment on the calendar, it’s a celebration of the beacons that guide us. Just as lighthouses offer strength, safety, and direction to those at sea, we’re here to help our members navigate their financial journeys.

This year, we’re shining a spotlight once again on the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses and the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse, a lasting symbol of resilience and community. Thanks to the dedication and support of our community, this historic beacon is welcoming visitors once again after closing in 2022 due to storm damage. Its restoration is a testament to what can be accomplished when people come together to preserve the landmarks that connect us to our shared history.

Our Nice Catch program recognizes kids who make a positive difference through kindness, leadership, and service to others. By celebrating these everyday acts of goodness, we shine a light on those who help make our communities stronger.

Please join us in congratulating our newest Kind Kid recipients, Tori LaFrenier and Connor Baker! Tori and Connor were recently recognized on the field at the Portland Sea Dogs' game, where they were honored and even had the opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.

Tori is an outstanding example of kindness, compassion, and leadership. Whether she's participating in Student Council, Girls on the Run, basketball, or dance, she encourages others, includes those who may feel left out, and always stands up for what's right. Her empathy, respect, and genuine care for others make her school and community a more welcoming place every day.

Connor is a remarkable example of kindness, teamwork, and compassion. A dedicated fifth-grade baseball player, he leads by example both on and off the field by encouraging teammates, demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship, and making everyone feel supported. He's also helping his team raise funds for a future trip to Cooperstown and is known at school for standing up for classmates and doing the right thing. His courage, selflessness, and caring spirit leave a positive impact wherever he goes.

Congratulations, Tori and Connor! Thank you for showing that kindness truly makes a difference.
