"It's tax-deductible" is the most expensive sentence in .

A deduction lowers your taxable income. It doesn't make the purchase free.

If you're in the 22% bracket, a $1,000 deductible expense saves you about $220 in federal tax. You're still out $780.

Buy it because the business needs it. The deduction is the coupon, not the reason.
