4. Many people confuse their Medicare Eligibility date with their Social Security retirement age. They are different. A person can apply for full retirement income benefits at around age 67. This is considered their retirement age. However, this does not affect the age at which they qualify for Medicare.

Quick Medicare Tip:

During the AEP (Oct 15-Dec 7), you can switch to Medicare Advantage from Original Medicare. You can also change Medicare Advantage plans if you’re currently enrolled in one. Should you join a Medicare Advantage plan and later want to leave it, you can use the AEP to return to Original Medicare as well.

Heading into Memorial Day Weekend 1977, little did people realize just how impactful that weekend would prove to be across all generations. Just a few highlights of the weekend: AJ Foyt would be the first driver to win 4 Indianapolis 500s; the Portland Trailblazers led by Bill Walton would take control of the NBA Finals; and Star Wars and Smokey and the Bandit would dominate the weekend box office sales!!

The month of May 1977 provided the release of an epic movie—Star Wars, Episode IV, A New Hope. The movie’s release date was May 25th, but it would dominate the summer box office sales for the year.
