first opened the doors to Slingluff United Insurance in 1928, little did he know the legacy he would build. Armed with a staff of one, and a whole lot of grit, Betts set his sights on purveying the best insurance agency he could for his family and friends in the Wiregrass. By 1945, he had outgrown his second floor office in the First National Bank of Dothan building and moved Slingluff Insurance d

own Foster Street. 1963 brought a lot of change, including a fresh start on South Oates where Slingluff United is today, and the addition of his son, Morris, to the team. Over the next 42 years with Morris at the helm, the agency would grow from a modest 4 person office handling less than 300 customers, to a highly automated office and staff of 16 associates serving more than 6,000 individuals, families and businesses in the Wiregrass Area.
2005 brought change again as Mr. Slingluff turned the reigns over to his son, Ben. As president, Ben continues to cultivate a team of thoughtful, diligent and personable people who are the heart of Slingluff United. Our longevity is deep-rooted in building relationships, attention to detail and commitment to service. Throughout our 96 years, one thing has not changed and that’s our commitment to providing our clients with the right coverage for their individual situation. ⛳🏌️‍♂️ Welcome to the SUI Open! 🏌️‍♀️⛳
In honor of Masters Week, the team at Slingluff United Insurance took things to the next level last week with our very own tournament—The SUI Open!
Our employees hit the “greens” at Adventureland Theme Park over Thursday and Friday for an exciting 18-hole, stroke play showdown. Teams were formed, scorecards were kept (with integrity, of course 😉), and all results were reported back to the official SUI Score Tent (aka Ben’s office!).
With a Men’s Division, Women’s Division, and Team Division, the competition was fierce—but the fun and camaraderie made this event a win for everyone!

🎉 Celebrating 1 Year with Celia Solares! 🎉
Please join us in congratulating Celia Solares, Commercial Account Manager, on her one-year anniversary with Slingluff United Insurance!
Celia has been dedicated to customer service since the age of 16, and over the past year she has brought that same passion and commitment to our team and our clients. She has embraced the insurance industry with enthusiasm, enjoying the opportunity to learn something new every day while helping provide protection and peace of mind to our clients.
Originally from Oregon and a longtime member of the Dothan community, Celia has become an integral part of our team. She shares that she truly enjoys coming to work each day and values the supportive, collaborative environment at Slingluff United.
Outside the office, Celia enjoys sewing, crafting, exploring antique stores, and unwinding with a good TV series—or a weekend shopping trip topped off with a sweet treat.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Easter has called Alabama home since the early 90s. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, painting, gardening, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She also has a love for art, music, animals—and even Renaissance Festivals!
Fun fact: When she’s not working, you might find her exploring a nearby town, relaxing with a good book, or enjoying a visit to Bucks Pocket State Park.
