First Responders Credit Union is a full-service financial institution serving firefighters, law enforcement, EMS professionals, and their families across Massachusetts. Our mission is to give our members the opportunity to enhance their financial
well being by offering simple, relevant products and services at a consistently
honest value. Once you join the credit union you are a member, not just a customer and as
a member you have an equal share of ownership. Instead of paying stockholders, credit unions exist to serve their membership
and any earnings are returned to the members in the form of better rates,
low fees and more products and services. This is what distinguishes BFCU from other financial institutions. Our policies and strategies are determined by a Board of Directors who are elected from among the membership and serve without pay. Thus Boston Firefighters Credit Union is truly owned and operated by our members.

Meet Millie the Brave, a comfort dog who brings support and comfort to First Responders after traumatic calls, visits mental health centers, and helps educate students in local schools.

This week, Somerville Fire Department’s Lt. Danielle O’Hearn, joined us at our Firehouse Comfort Dogs event where she read ‘s story, and shared a few words about Millie and the important work she does for First Responders and the community.

We’re proud to share that yesterday’s Firehouse Comfort Dog Family Fun Day was a fantastic success! Our support of Fire House Dogs is helping make a meaningful difference. Comfort dogs provide First Responders with moments of calm, connection, and comfort when they need it most-and bring that same warmth to our community.

A special thank-you to our amazing four-legged guests: Louie, Sophie Marie, Halli, Copper, and Layla.

A huge thank you to our friends at the First Responders Credit Union for their continued generosity and unwavering support of Team Boston Fire and our entire Boston Fire Department family.

Year after year, our riders put in the miles for the Pan-Mass Challenge to raise critical funds for cancer research and to help fight a disease that has taken far too many of our brothers and sisters in the fire service.

The Boston Fire Department has always been a close-knit family, and our friends at the Credit Union are very much a part of that family. Many have personal connections to our members, and year after year they continue to stand beside us—not only in supporting our PMC ride, but in supporting Boston firefighters, our families, and our community.

It was especially great to spend some time today with their new President & CEO, Danielle Milner. Danielle has spoken about her commitment to serving first responders and their families and building upon the Credit Union's incredible history and legacy. We are grateful to see that commitment continuing under her leadership and look forward to many more years of working together.

Danielle and the entire Credit Union team, thank you for believing in our mission, supporting our riders, and continuing to have the backs of the men and women of the Boston Fire Department.

We are incredibly fortunate to have you in our corner!
