The Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher contest recognizes those who are actively engaged in farming or ranching full time.

The Excellence in Agriculture contest is for those who are involved in agriculture but don’t make the majority of their income through production agriculture. Eligible applicants include farm store managers, crop consultants, ag teachers and others.

Applicants for both contests must between 18-35 years of age.

The virtual event is open to any Texas student who will be a high school junior or senior next year.

The online learning experience will help students build an understanding of the free enterprise system, the U.S. Constitution and enhance leadership skills. Plus earn some really cool prizes!

There is no fee for VLC. Registration closes on May 30, and the online learning modules will be available from June 1-30.

If a student previously registered for our Youth Leadership Conference, they are automatically registered for VLC.

Texas Farm Bureau is hosting a Tele-Town Hall discussion on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. (CST) on coronavirus (COVID-19) impacts and Small Business Administration (SBA) programs available for agriculture.

The town hall will feature U.S. Sen. John Cornyn and other speakers with the latest details, including information on SBA loans.

You must pre-register for the event in order to participate.

The deadline for participant registration is 7 a.m. April 16 (12 hours prior to event).

Texas Farm Bureau is hosting a Tele-Town Hall discussion on Tuesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. (CST) on the impact the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on cattle markets. Updates will be provided by representatives from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and the American Farm Bureau Federation. You must pre-register for the event in order to participate.
