RAPIDLY CHANGING SITUATION! Today is a day when the risk is moving hour by hour. Remember: When you see an update, check the timestamp. The background colors are official from NWS (as of 745 am), but I believe the situation has even changed since then.

I won't be able to track every storm today. Stay "in tune" with your trusted sources. Here's the big story...

NW of STL — risk is decreasing quickly.

STL and eastern Ozarks — risk is unchanged. Very real tornado or wind damage threat this afternoon.

SEMO (and surrounding areas) — your risk is dramatically escalating! I expect two rounds for some. Supercells with tornado risk by late afternoon, followed by a squall line tonight.

The Dexter Shelter Insurance office will be back open tomorrow but you can call our office to get most things taken care of and avoid the yucky roads that are still covered! Trust Vanilla Ice and be careful!

Monday January 26th our office will be closed due to the poor road conditions and the extremely cold temps. If you have an emergency or if you need to reach our office you can text our office number 573-624-8923 or you can call or text Brock at 573-225-9007. Be careful these next few days and if you don’t have to be out stay home.

I know that I am not telling anything that you haven't already heard but the next 10 days or so is going to get very bad in our area. Yes there is going to be a lot of snow which is going to be very heavy and it is not going to go anywhere with the secondary (or primary) issue of the VERY cold temperatures. Please be sure to take precautions with your animals, let your water trickle in the house, don't plug in heaters to extension cords or power strips, don't run your generator inside your home. These are all things that can cause loss to your home/property or even your life. Be careful out there everyone.

We have been asked many times since Joe Guiling started in April, “When are you going to get his big head on a billboard?” The answer is December 3, 2025!!! 🙂

Joe finished his Affiliate Agent training and as of December 1st is a full Affiliate Agent of Shelter Insurance along with Matt Mitchell! This morning I approved the layout and by this evening the new digital billboard was gracing Dexter with our 3 beautiful bald heads! Be careful driving in Dexter as those good looking guys could possibly stop traffic!
