We were proud to stand beside Ameneh Marhaba as Liberia celebrated its official opening on East Warren. Ameneh's journey, from Liberia to Lebanon to Detroit, is woven into every dish on the menu, and her resilience and vision are exactly what this ecosystem was built to support.

From her first pop-up in 2016 to a full-service restaurant inside The Ribbon, her story is a testament to what a whole community rallying behind you can build. Through whole red snapper, roasted goat, and groundnut stew, Liberian culture is alive and thriving on one of Detroit's most storied corridors, made possible with support from Invest Detroit, Motor City Match , Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, and partners across Detroit's small business ecosystem.

While Jay Howell, illustrator of Sanjay and Craig and Bob's Burgers, stopped into JHub to touch up his murals, he took time out of his busy schedule to give Invest Detroit team members the ol' Bob's Burgers treatment. Now we just have to decide if we should swap out all of our photos on the website! Thanks, Jay, for the amazing art and for beautifying our office.
