🤔 So the question is:
Are you delaying retirement income... for a payoff you may barely live long enough to enjoy?
I'm NOT waiting until 70 for Social Security... here's the math that changed my mind.
At 62: ~$2,500/month At 70: ~$3,600/month
Sounds like a no-brainer to wait... until you realize you're giving up 8 years of income upfront.
That's roughly $240,000 collected before 70.
Then comes the real question: how long does it actually take to "catch up" — and do you even have the time to see it play out?
Because once you hit 62, average remaining lifespan is often into the 80s... and timing suddenly matters a lot more than the higher check later.
