DES BEST IOWA STATE FAIR EVER! 🎡🎟️🎆

Apparently 1.2 million of you got the memo that Nothing Compares. A record-breaking 1,218,834 fairgoers packed the Iowa State Fairgrounds this year, officially making the 2026 Iowa State Fair the most attended EVER. That's a whole lot of corn dogs, butter cow selfies, and Fair Spirit. Congrats to our friends at the Iowa State Fair on one for the record books! Let’s do it again next year!

For 13 days, Greater Des Moines became the biggest stage in youth sports.

From first whistles to finish lines, 15,000+ athletes and coaches, 1,700 volunteers and thousands of families came together to create an unforgettable experience. Events like the AAU Junior Olympic Games do more than crown champions. They bring people together, fill our hotels and restaurants, support our local businesses and attractions, and leave a lasting impact across our region.

Thank you to every athlete, coach, volunteer, partner, and family who made the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games one to remember. Until next time. 🏅
