A little fur therapy goes a long way 🐾 Thank you to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa who came onsite for an employee wellness moment that brought lots of joy and led to 8 pet adoptions - 7 kittens and 1 puppy!

We’re proud to support our employees' mental well-being with initiatives like this, along with volunteer time off to use at the shelter, matching gifts for ARL donations, and $300 in Lifestyle Spending Account dollars that can be used towards pet adoption and more.

FHLB Des Moines members can now apply to receive an up to $3-to-$1 matching grant to support a not-for-profit organization or government entity that has a mission of promoting affordable housing or community development.

Funds can used for a variety of purposes such as affordable housing, down payment assistance, job training, financial literacy, food banks and youth programs.

⏰ Applications accepted May 18 - June 5, 2026
📍Grantees must be located in Missouri

Applications for the 2026 Competitive Affordable Housing Program (AHP) are due by May 1, at 4:30 PM CT.

🏆Maximum AHP awards are $3,000,000 per project
🏠Maximum $150,000 subsidy per unit

AHP is one of the nation’s largest sources of grants for affordable housing projects and encourages partnerships between our member financial institutions and local housing providers which include nonprofits, governments, housing authorities and other qualifying organizations.
