Big news at FHLB Des Moines! 🎉

We’re excited to announce that Wil W. Osborn will step into the role of president and CEO of FHLB Des Moines effective October 1.

Wil has served as the Bank’s chief business officer since 2020, bringing two decades of FHLBank experience, leadership and a deep commitment to the Bank’s mission.

“Stepping into the role as president and CEO is incredibly meaningful to me and I’m honored to lead the Bank in its mission of supporting both the success of our members and housing affordability. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, and I’m excited to continue working alongside our dedicated FHLB Des Moines team.”

Wil will succeed Kris Williams, who announced her intention to retire from FHLB Des Moines earlier this year. Kris has served as president and chief executive officer since January 2020, and her last day will be September 30, 2026.

Under Williams’ leadership, FHLB Des Moines has continued to advance its mission of providing reliable access to funding and supporting housing and community investment through its member institutions.

Through a combined $25.9 million investment in Missouri communities, the Member Impact Fund is expanding access to affordable housing, strengthening community development efforts and addressing critical needs identified at the local level.

Key Program Details:
🏦 Available for FHLB Des Moines members participating in the Mortgage Partnership Finance® Program
🏠 Supports borrowers with income at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI)
🤝 Can be used in conjunction with other down payment and closing cost programs
💲 Mortgage Rate Relief funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis until program funding is exhausted or Sept. 30, 2026, whichever comes first.

Expanding access to homeownership starts with the right partnerships. 🤝
FHLB Des Moines members play a critical role in opening doors for more homebuyers. Through our Down Payment Products, Home$tart and the Native American Homeownership Initiative, participating members can help eligible households access up to $25,000 in grant funding.

This funding can be used for down payment and closing costs, often one of the biggest barriers to achieving homeownership.

We are incredibly grateful to receive a Member Impact Fund grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines through partnership with First Security Bank in Belgrade, part of the Glacier Bank community.

This investment is another reminder of what makes our community so special. Time and again, you've shown up to support our mission, and we couldn't do this work without you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

In just a few short weeks, we'll break ground on our first homes in the West Post development in Belgrade. Together, we're building more than houses. We're creating opportunities for local families to achieve affordable homeownership. We can't wait to keep this momentum going.
