Meet Judie, our October Team Member of the Month! 🎉

Judie brings care and compassion to her work, helping members navigate their financial needs while working closely with teammates to find the right solutions. Her thoughtful approach and commitment to helping others reflect what being a Good Neighbor is all about. We’re grateful to have Judie on our team! 💛

❓ What do you believe makes Good Neighbors Credit Union special?

➡️ “I believe what makes us special is that we are always trying to help one another. From making our communities better to helping a member finance a vehicle to helping a fellow teammate!”

❓ What’s your favorite GNCU memory?

➡️ “My all-time favorite memory was being able to work at GNCU with my life long best friend, Cindy. I am so grateful that we had this opportunity and I will cherish this for the rest of my life.”

❓ What GNCU value resonates with you the most?

➡️ “Equality is the value that resonates the most with me. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect, and I strive to treat others the way I would want to be treated.”

❓ Tell us a random fun fact!

➡️ “This past April my daughter and I were flying home from Florida, and we had a layover in Chicago. As we were waiting by our gate to board the plane Keon Coleman from the Buffalo Bills walked up! My daughter was so excited to meet him - and it turned out his seat was right next to mine!”

We know how important it is to be able to count on your credit union, and we are truly sorry for the disruption caused by our recent system interruption.
 
Now that we are back up and running, our CEO, Emma Smalley, shares a message about our responsibility to our members, the importance of choosing partners who share our commitment to service, and the work already underway to find a better solution.
 
Above all, we want to thank our members for the incredible kindness they showed our team during this challenging time. Your patience and understanding meant so much to us, and we are grateful to serve such a caring community. 💛

Good Neighbors honors the Indigenous peoples who first called this land their home, and we recognize the rich history and invaluable contributions that have shaped our nation.

Today serves as a reminder to acknowledge the truths of our past and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities 💛

As a reminder both branches will are closed today in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We will reopen during normal business hours tomorrow, Tuesday October 13.

Financial literacy is about more than knowing how to open a bank account; it’s about giving students the knowledge and habits they need to make confident decisions about their future ✏️

That’s why we’re proud to work with the Academy of Finance and educators like Jessica to bring real-world financial education into the classroom.

As Jessica puts it, we have an opportunity to teach these skills while students are still in school—so they’re better prepared to manage their money, build good habits, and plan for what comes next.

It’s a big part of what being a good neighbor means to us: investing in our students, sharing knowledge, and helping build a stronger financial future for our community 💛

We will be open during normal business hours all this week, and we will resume our regular daily schedule at both branches next Tuesday October 13.
