Jesse Jackson
Yes, I am a Jesse Jackson Admirer.
I recall 1984 where I voted for Him and became involved in the political process to elect him President of the United States in Houston that year. Jesse changed the political process in a lesson learned. PROPORTIONAL
Counting of the votes. THIS Is Jesse legacy. It used to be THE winner takes all. Delegates Voting Caucusing. Going through that process in 1984 to learn how the election process was eye-opening. Jesse had me and many others believing that things could change. It was possible.
NOW, I ask the young people to keep pushing for a more united and more equal United States of America. Why young people? Because it's the younger people that is in charge now to move the country forward.
Martin, John Lewis, Jesse and even AL Sharpton were very young when they became involved. When I say young... teenagers and early twenties.
So I look at Jesse as a Trailblazer. Rest in Power, Jesse.
Young People become Trailblazers and get to involve and stay involve with the Political Process Today. It ain't over.
