I will only say this ONCE... or maybe 27 times more...
Joe Namath needs to go back and sell pantyhose because he knows nothing about Medicare Advantage Plans. Yes, a select group of folks do well with them, but not the majority. (Low Income, Disabled and/or Under 65 and healthy folks.)
Think about this: those commercials talk about $0 Premium, Rx, dental, vision, hearing Aids, and Gift Cards for Groceries. But do they talk about how many more THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS you would pay if faced with a catastrophic illness, not to mention just trying to find a doctor to accept it?
One more thing: When you take a Medicare Advantage Plan, you are giving up Medicare. Yes, that $174.80 a month will go to that insurance company, and Medicare is probably happy to get rid of you.
Cool fact: If you are healthy and would like to consider a Medicare Supplement, now is the time to get some rates and see if you would medically qualify. Then do an application in early November for coverage to start January 1st. During Open Enrollment is the best time to cancel that Medicare Advantage Plan.
When we know better... we can do better!!!
