❤️ It’s Only Impossible Until We Do it Together! ❤️
❤️Our goal is $70,000 by June 30!❤️
When we launched our emergency fundraising goal of $10,000, we honestly weren't sure what to expect, but you didn't just meet it — you blew right past it.
As of today, you've helped us raise over $13,000+. 🎉
Your donations, memberships, gift card purchases, and words of encouragement have meant the world to us.
Truly. Deeply. Thank you!
Now, here's where things stand — and we're going to be straight with you, because that's the least you deserve.
🔧 The used projector idea? We had to let it go.
We looked into it seriously — we really did. But here's the thing: everything that makes the Egyptian special also makes it really hard to find an off-the-shelf fix. Our 98-year-old vaudeville theater has a completely one-of-a-kind auditorium, and most used projectors out there either won't work with our setup or are already near the end of their own lives. At the very least, they were built for somebody else.
Putting your hard-earned donations into a refurbished projector that might only last a few years? That doesn't sit right with us.
You've trusted us, and we want to honor that.
✨ So here's where we're headed — and honestly, we're feeling really good about it, but we still need your help.
We're actively working with local organizations, city and county leaders, foundations, and state partners to secure financing for a brand new projector. The outpouring of support and guidance from community leaders has been genuinely incredible, and it's given us a lot of confidence that we can pull this off.
🎥 The projector we're going after is around $70,000.
Before you catch your breath — here's why it's the right call. This isn't something that gets pulled off a warehouse shelf. It gets built specifically for our auditorium. Our screen. Our throw distance. Our unique, beautiful, weird, wonderful space. 😊 The price covers everything — the projector itself, shipping, professional installation, and precision tuning. And it'll deliver consistent, high-quality movies for the next 25 to 30 years.
It wasn't our first choice. But it's the right one.
❓ "If you're going after grants, why do my individual donations still matter?"
This is such a great question, and the answer might genuinely surprise you. When foundations and grantors decide who to fund, one of the things they look at closely is community support — and that means the NUMBER of individual donors can matter just as much as the dollar amount. 💡
Your $10 or $25 donation sends a powerful message to funders:
We believe in The Egyptian.
Every single donation — at any level — helps make our grant applications stronger.
And there's another reason it matters: if we can raise the funds ahead of time, we can continue to keep ticket prices low when we reopen. That's really important to us.
