The elderly (or families) lose an estimated $2.6 billion annually due to elder financial abuse and exploitation. Unfortunately, no one is immune to abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It occurs in every demographic, and can happen to anyone—a... family member, a neighbor,

YEP even you or your loved ones. It is estimated that only about one in five of those crimes are ever discovered. With this website and site, I am taking this and every imaginable opportunity to raise awareness of this injustice, to educate on ways to identify abuse and exploitation of the elderly, with the hopes of arming individuals & families with strategies on how to identify and protect themselves and their loved ones and ultimately holding perpetrators accountable. The Edward W. Johnson Story – Why We Do This

Behind The Flowing Well is a story of courage, loss, and purpose.

Edward W. Johnson was our father, a friend, and community member who became a victim of elder exploitation. A dedicated Navy Veteran and retiree working 30 years at Ford Motor Company in Louisville KY. His experience revealed the urgent need for education, ethical awareness, and stronger protections for seniors.
