The IRS has released the upcoming year’s new HSA and Excepted Benefit Health Reimbursement Arrangement (EBHRA) limits for 2027.

Most notable, the H.S.A contribution limits will increase to $4500 (self only) and $9000 (family). The H.S.A catchup contribution limit for those age 55+ will remain at $1000.

Summer travel season is almost here ✈️🌍

Imagine you’re overseas with your family and your child wakes up in the middle of the night, doubled over in pain from food poisoning. You’re in a small town, panicked, unsure where to go or how to explain what’s happening in Italian.

Before you head out on your next adventure, it’s worth taking a moment to think about travel medical insurance. Many people don’t realize that most traditional group medical plans offer little to no coverage outside the U.S.

Travel medical insurance is often very affordable and can provide:
• 24/7 multi-lingual support wherever you are
• Access to telemedicine while abroad
• Access to local medical providers / facilities
• Medical evacuation coordination when needed
• Emergency family travel arrangements
• Coverage for Lost baggage / personal effects

A small step now can make a big difference if plans change while you’re away. Travel smarter and enjoy peace of mind all summer long.

The EEOC is making one thing clear: employers must take their obligations under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act seriously.

Since the PWFA’s final rule took effect in June 2024, the agency has aggressively pursued enforcement actions targeting:
• Forced leaves of absence
• Failures in the interactive process
• Rigid attendance policies
• Denials of basic accommodations

A closer look at the EEOC’s litigation activity reveals five key enforcement trends every employer should understand to strengthen compliance and reduce risk under the PWFA.

Now is the time to evaluate your policies, train managers, and ensure accommodation requests are handled appropriately.

🔥 Summer is coming—and so is increased scrutiny on workplace heat safety.

On April 10th, federal safety officials renewed their focus on protecting workers from heat-related risks through an updated National Emphasis Program (NEP). While there’s still no specific federal rule defining when heat protections must be implemented, enforcement is very real—and employers can still face serious consequences for failing to act.

Even more important: several states already have their own heat safety regulations in place.

If your team works outdoors, handles heavy equipment, or performs physically demanding tasks, now is the time to prepare—not when temperatures peak.

Don’t wait. Review your safety plans, train your team, and stay ahead of the heat.

Section 125 plans—also known as cafeteria plans—are a powerful way for employers to help employees pay for benefits using pre-tax dollars, reducing taxable income and boosting overall savings.

But there’s an important catch: not everyone qualifies.

Business owners who are considered self-employed typically cannot participate in these plans as employees. It is important to understand what individuals in your business meet the IRS standards of "self employed". Including them improperly can risk the tax advantages for everyone else on the plan.

Bottom line: Section 125 plans are incredibly valuable—but only when set up and administered correctly. Let us help you understand the rules so you can maximize the benefits without creating unintended tax issues.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚

This month is all about raising awareness, breaking stigma, and supporting mental well-being—for ourselves and others.

Take time to breathe, to rest, to reach out, and to remind someone they matter.

Small acts of kindness (even toward yourself) can make a big difference.

When an employee suddenly goes quiet, starts missing work, or seems off during the day, it can leave managers wondering what to do next.

The truth? You don’t have to be a mental health expert to make a difference.

With the right approach, you can support your team while still meeting legal, safety, and business responsibilities. A little preparation, training, and the right resources can go a long way in recognizing warning signs and guiding employees toward the help they need.
