🏛️ MARTIN HUMPHREYS & THE DEL RIO LOAN COMPANY
For decades, the historic Del Rio Loan Company building has stood proudly at the corner of South Main Street—a familiar landmark representing local enterprise, perseverance and service to generations of Del Rio families.
The Del Rio Loan Company was organized in 1937, but the building’s history stretches back even further. Designed around 1910 by noted architect Alfred Giles, it originally served as the Del Rio National Bank.
Today, that legacy continues under Martin “Marty” Humphreys, grandson of longtime owner Victor Lee. Martin joined the business in 1986, became a partner in 1996 and helped incorporate the company the following year.
Martin represents another generation committed to preserving not only a family business, but one of downtown Del Rio’s most recognizable historic buildings. The Del Rio Loan Company is more than a place of business—it is part of the architectural and commercial story of our community.
Thank you, Martin Humphreys, for helping keep this piece of Del Rio history alive.
