My agency and my office partner, Todd DeRenzis' agency just completed our 26th year collecting toys for Toys 4 Tots and this year added Promises2Kids which supports all the kids in Foster care in San Diego County. It was a record year collecting 14 overflowing boxes and several bags of toys for kids who were dealt a tough hand. So many toys we had to rent a box truck to deliver them all! Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the love and support from the North Coast Newspapers, Monarch Ocean Pub, La Valle Coastal Club, and our customers, neighbors, and friends. Over 15 years ago when the Susan Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk started in Del Mar, John Wingate owner of En Fuego, called and said "We should get together and cheer the walkers". Thanks to our Del Mar Village Association, Del Mar Fire Dept., Torrey Pines High School Cheer Team, and a lot of local love it's grown to something really special to cheer and honor these courageous inspirational warriors as they begin their 3-day, 60 mile journey.

The newly imposed tariffs on Canadian products will cause many who lost homes in the LA fires to be underinsured. Canada is a major supplier (40%) of lumber used in home construction. These tariffs will raise the cost of that lumber 25%, which may mean the dwelling coverage based on estimated rebuilding costs prior to tariffs may be inadequate. If that home is underinsured as a result, it's not your insurance company's fault - it's the imposing of these tariffs. Check with your agent to see how these tariffs affect your coverage and premium.

I went up to Altadena today to see the home one of our customer's lost in the Eaton Wildfire. It's hard to put into words the emotions being in the middle of this awful devastation. I'm so proud of our Catastrophe Team and the work they're doing. Over $100 million paid to date in advances for over 9000 claims.

State Farm has a fully dedicated "CAT" Catastrophe team always on alert ready to dispatch whenever there's a catastrophe that impacts our policyholders. They're always loaded with supplies and professional adjusters and support personnel to move out and be on site to live up to the promises made to our customers. These photos are from the two claims command posts set up to handle the devastating L.A. wildfires. I truly believe we're the very best in the business at this and one more reason I'm proud to be in my 54th year representing this outstanding organization as a State Farm Agent!

This is an honor, Thank You!

We would like to highlight Jim Coleman for the Member of the Month award at La Valle Coastal Club! This year’s Toys for Tots drive was a major success, and we thank all of the Members who came to donate toys for children in need. Jim Coleman worked directly with Toys for Tots and organized a huge toy drive at his State Farm Insurance Office in Del Mar. He partnered with us this year to help promote the toy drive and helped many kids receive toys this year. 🧸

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who contributed to the Toy Drive’s success, but we could not have done it without you, Jim!

“This is our 24th year collecting toys for the USMC Toys for Tots drive at my State Farm Insurance Agency in Del Mar, and it’s our biggest year ever. In total, we collected 12 overflowing boxes of toys, which we delivered to the USMC Reserves at Miramar for distribution. We always have some stragglers and those extra toys; this year, two more boxes went to Promises2Kids, which supports the Polinsky Children’s Center and the 5000 foster kids in San Diego County.

We’ve been very fortunate to have had the support of the La Valle Men’s Golf Association, the Women’s Golf Association, and the entire La Valle operation. In addition, many local businesses have toy events, especially Monarch Ocean Pub in Del Mar Plaza, which brought three boxes from their event to us.

Next year, our 25th, we’ll be collecting at my new office location on Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar, and we look forward to the continued support of my clients, the community, Monarch, and La Valle. All we do is collect and transport. It’s the fabulous generosity of others that makes it possible.”

Our 24th year collecting Toys 4 Tots and our biggest year ever. A huge thank you to our fabulous customers, community, Monarch Ocean Pub, and La Valle Coastal Club Men's & Women's Golf Associations for your continued outstanding support.
Next year we'll be collecting for the 25th year at our new location at 2002 Jimmy Durante Blvd., Ste 206, still in Del Mar.
