Pierce Illusion

Lord, lift the veil that clouds my sight,
Let me see through borrowed light.
Guard my ears from hollow schemes,
And shape my words from truer dreams.

Shield my heart from shadows near,
From whispers false and tales unclear.
Let me find the hidden thread,
Of truth where trickery dares to tread.

Grant me wisdom’s sharpened gaze,
To see through doubt’s deceptive haze.
Be my compass, clear and bright,
Guiding me to Your pure light.

With eyes unclouded, mind awake,
I’ll walk the path no lie can shake.
In Your truth, Lord, let me stay,
Where light and peace fill all my way.

The Book of Remembrance

A day may seem bright for those who deceive,
Lured by pleasures that fade away.
They may laugh and live while others grieve,
As darkness falls, their joy won’t stay.

A month, a season, evil may reign,
Life for the wicked may seem so grand.
Time will expose their fleeting gain,
As the faithful are led by the Lord’s hand.

And for those who fear His holy name,
Light will dawn with healing wings.
Trust in Him, for the end is the same
All who believe shall rise and sing.

All-knowing Father, hear our prayer,
Lead us with wisdom, just and fair.
Teach us to choose with hearts like Yours,
As generous as the love You pour.

You give to all, both good and bad,
With open hands, though hearts be sad.
Let us, in choosing, seek the kind
Who govern with a generous mind.

For in Your world, there’s more than enough,
And still, You give when times are tough.
Teach us to lead with hearts that share,
To lift the weak, to show we care.

Guide those in power, let them see,
The way to rule with charity.
For You, O Lord, give all Your grace,
To every soul, in every place.

Help me to truly honor You,
You do not take pleasure in my suffering.
Your heart is torn within You,
And Your compassion overflows.

Oh my Lord, what do You require of me?
To do what is right,
To love kindness,
And to trust and love You.

I am chasing after what is empty,
I hold on to the wind,
I let illusions take over the truth,
I lay my bed on a pile of lies.

Oh my Lord, my true Savior,
Save me, lead me to Your paths,
Which are true and right,
Bringing abundance and rest to refresh.

The Narrow Golden Road

I wandered down the winding road,
Carrying a heavy load.
Seeking peace, a lighter way,
But found myself in disarray.

Along the path, I thought I knew,
I strayed a bit, and lost the view.
The broad road called with ease and grace,
But left me feeling out of place.

Little did I understand,
That what I held was in my hand.
To choose the road that’s narrow, true,
And find the strength to start anew.

Though the wide road seemed so bright,
It led me far away from light.
But turning back, I’ve come to see,
The road to joy is hard, yet free.

And so I’ll take the lighter load,
And walk the narrow, golden road.

Our daily bread is doing what is right,
For ourselves and others, spreading light.

Our daily bread is deeds that nourish,
Acts of kindness that help others flourish.

Avoiding what is harmful, to body and soul,
We seek what heals, what makes us whole.

Our daily bread is choosing with care,
What strengthens our spirit, what lifts despair.

Living with purpose, speaking with grace,

Our daily bread is what sets the pace.
A reflection on goodness, on what is true,
Guiding our actions in all that we do.

Taking in peace, rejecting the hate,

Our daily bread is choosing our fate.
A projection of love in all we say,
Helping others along the way.

And as we give, we too receive,

Our daily bread is the goodness we weave.
For in every word, and in every deed,
There lies the sustenance that we all need.
