Many advantage plan carriers offer OTC benefits.
OTC stands for Over-the-Counter.
This is a benefit that offers a dollar amount to spend quarterly on supplies such as band-aids, vitamins, supplements, toothbrushes, aspirins, ETC (at a local drugstore or online supplier) that is included within advantage plan coverage.
This benefit comes in 3 forms.
Form 1- being a pre-loaded Mastercard sent to you with your plan materials, to use at your local drug store (in-network with your current carrier).
Form 2- being a dollar amount you can spend through an online website, catalog, or over the phone order with your insurance carrier.
Form 3- being linked to your advantage plan insurance card that you can use at your local drugstore. (in-network with your current carrier).
This benefit typically comes in a quarterly allowance and does not roll over.
We are now in June, which means for those who have an OTC benefit that is quarterly, and does not roll over to the next quarter, this is your last month to use it or lose it!
(this does not apply to those who have a monthly benefit, or rollover benefits)
