As we sort through all the photos and congratulatory comments from yesterday’s 90th anniversary party, we’d like to take a moment to show our gratitude to our hometown. Our Chairman and President, Marty Heger, and our CFO, Dave Peters, welcomed City of Dearborn Government Economic Development Director Jordan Twardy, who presented us with a congratulatory proclamation from Mayor Abdullah Hammoud.

For nine decades, we’ve been proud to call this community home, and this recognition makes our 90th anniversary celebration even more meaningful. Thank you, Mayor Hammoud, the City of Dearborn, and our customers, employees, neighbors, and community partners who have helped make the past 90 years possible. The first day of school is here! (Already?!?) On Friday, Michelle, our Michigan Avenue Branch Manager, was on hand for the Open House organized by the DuVall Elementary School PTA. Students and parents were able to tour the school, meet the teachers, and enjoy snacks and giveaways. To the Penguins and all returning area students, have a great year!

Every August, the Dearborn Heights Library brings local families together for their Summer Wrap-Up & Backpack Giveaway Party, helping hundreds of children head into the new school year prepared and excited to learn.

This year, Dearborn Federal Savings Bank was proud to make a donation of backpacks to the Library Director Michael McCaffery and Branch Librarian Carolyn Smith, so every student attending this weekend’s party has a successful start to the school year. 📚✏️
