Sometimes keeping up with a home isn’t about working harder. It’s about having a system. 🧺
Laundry used to be one of those things that could get out of control fast. And once it did, it stayed that way! One basket becomes three, then there’s a pile on the couch, somebody can’t find their shorts, and we are all digging through a mound of clothes and that feeling Of chaos and seeing this laundry every day, as soon as I walked in the door made me feel low and out of control. 😅
And then I realized all I needed was a system. I didn’t reinvent the wheel. I just put an actual system in place and kept being disciplined enough to come back to it and keep the system flowing. It was really that simple.
So the system…
This is ours. Each kid has a basket. Dirty clothes go in, washed/dry then Clean laundry goes back into their basket, and my older kids are responsible for taking it from there. The littles I help I’m happy to because I’m able to get it done swiftly there’s no sorting and it doesn’t sit. When it comes out the dryer, it gets folded and goes straight to the drawer. I don’t wait for time to take over and pull me back down in a chaotic spiral.
Is it fancy? Nope. Does everyone execute it perfectly every single time? Also nope. 😂 But the system exists, and that alone keeps the laundry from becoming complete chaos.
Sometimes getting your sanity back is as simple as deciding where something goes, who is responsible for it, and doing it the same way every time.
You don’t need a perfectly organized house or even Pinterest worthy style to feel like you’re rocking motherhood. 🤍 Sometimes you just need a system that works for YOUR house—and a little discipline to keep coming back to it.
And when even the system can’t keep up? That’s what outsourcing is for. 😉🧺
Have a great Tuesday!! Tomorrow is laundry pick up day!! See y’all then.
