If you only pick one night, pick this one.

The Saturday balloon glow is the biggest show of the weekend, and the drone show closes the night after it. The field goes quiet, the burners fire, and fifty balloons light up at once.

Tomorrow is the final day. Gates open at 6:30 AM and the last ascension lifts off in the afternoon.

Huntersville is glowing today. 🪔

The Lake Norman Diwali Celebration is happening this afternoon at Veterans Park, 1:30 to 6:30 PM, and admission is free.

Expect cultural performances, food vendors, a shopping bazaar, and activities for the kids, all building to the grand diya lighting as the day winds down. If you have never seen hundreds of diyas lit together, it is worth the trip.

Grab the family, come hungry, and stay for the lights.

Saturday afternoon is the main event.

The mass ascension goes up between 4:00 and 5:30 PM, and today the special shapes join the classics. Watch for the ones that are not shaped like balloons at all.

Between flights there is live music, the artisan village, the w**e and b**r garden, and tethered rides if the wind cooperates. Come early, stay late. That is the whole strategy.

Tonight the balloons stay on the ground and light up the field instead. The Friday night balloon glow is pure Carolina fall magic, and a drone show follows it.

Saturday and Sunday mornings, the competition pilots launch from spots around Statesville and fly in toward the field, steering for targets while the crowd watches them come. First launch window is 8:30 to 9:30 this morning.

Coffee in hand, balloons overhead. Not a bad way to start a Saturday.

It starts this afternoon, Statesville.

The 51st Carolina BalloonFest opens today, and the first mass ascension lifts off between 4:00 and 5:30 PM. Fifty balloons, one October sky, and a whole weekend of reasons to look up.

Gates opened at 3:00. Bring a blanket, bring your people, and give yourself time to park. Flights are weather dependent and the pilots make the final call, so keep an eye on the sky and the festival updates.

A new AmeriSave survey of 1,000 homeowners found 43% feel exactly that way, even though 4 in 5 have equity sitting in their home right now.

In a financial emergency, 64% said they would reach for a credit card first. Only 43% would tap the equity in their own home.
