SDRP Update for Producers!

If you completed a Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) application for crop losses in 2023 or 2024, great news — USDA has increased the payment factor from 35% to 70%! That means producers with approved applications will automatically receive an additional 35% of their calculated SDRP payment. No new application needed!

The application deadline has also been extended to August 12, 2026 for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 — so if you haven't applied yet, there's still time!

A few key reminders:
✅ Payment caps are $125,000 per year, or $250,000 if at least 75% of your AGI comes from farming — your additional payment will not exceed these limits
✅ Stage 1 & Stage 2 payments are combined when calculating payment limits
✅ Total payments cannot exceed 90% of your loss

Contact your local FSA office or visit fsa.usda.gov/sdrp for more information and to apply.

Farmer Bridge Assistance Program (FBA)

This program was designed to help row crop producers get through market disruptions, high input costs, lingering fallout from inflation and trade issues. Producers who raise corn, soybeans, wheat and many other crops are eligible to receive this funding.

The USDA has stated that the payments will be based on modeled losses, NOT actual yield losses. Payments will be calculated using economic research, cost of production estimates and the WASDE yield and price data.

There will be a $155,000 payment cap per producer or legal entity and an adjusted gross income cap of $900,000. Payments are expected to start rolling out as soon as February 28th, 2026.

What do you need to do?

•If you have already reported your 2025 acres to the FSA office, in theory there is nothing you need to do. However, it would not hurt to verify with the FSA office that all acres are certified and that there is nothing else you need to do before December 19th, 2025.

•The USDA will be using pre-filled applications to streamline this process. Be on the lookout for these applications, as they may be mailed to you.

If you have any questions regarding the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program, contact our office or your local FSA office.

🌾Pasture, Rangeland & Forage (PRF) Insurance

If you rely on grass or hay to keep your operation running, the PRF program is a powerful tool to help protect your bottom line. PRF insurance is designed to offset the financial impact of reduced forage production caused by lack of rainfall — giving you a safety net during the dry years.

It’s flexible, easy to tailor to your acres, and pays based on local rainfall data, not on individual production records. If your area experiences below-average precipitation, the program can provide support right when you need it most.

If you’re interested in learning how PRF could fit your operation, I’d be happy to walk through options and coverage levels with you.

The deadline to signup for PRF is December 1st.
