As the rainy season starts to bring relief to our parched state, Polk County officials have officially lifted the May 5 burn ban. Local municipal fire chiefs are on board, but they reiterate that even though the burn ban has been lifted, you should still report potentially dangerous fires to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office nonemergency line at 863-298-6200.
