Be sure to take advantage of VA Tax Free Weekend (Aug. 7th-9th). School Supplies $20 and less, and Clothing and Footwear $100 and less will be tax free! NC doesn't participate in a TFW although MD TFW is Aug 9th-15th.

College Freshman: Please check your Student Information System account and email for notices from your institution. Financial aid awards, payment plans, and loan master promissory notes must be finalized ASAP, or your Fall 2026 classes may be dropped. Community Colleges periodically drop classes for non-payment as well. If you have questions or need to talk about your options, contact the TRIO EOC Program at 434-797-8577 or [email protected].

Be sure to communicate any scholarships received to your institution ASAP so it can be earmarked on your account. Many times, the actual scholarship funds may not be received until after the payment due date.
