Fire Prevention Week is a great time to bring the whole family together for a little friendly competition and an important safety check!

The Family Power Check activity helps families review their charging habits and learn how to safely use phones, tablets, e-bikes, power tools and other devices powered by lithium-ion batteries.

✅ Use the correct charger for your device.
✅ Charge devices on a hard, flat surface.
✅ Watch for warning signs like unusual heat, odors or damage.
✅ Unplug devices when charging is complete.
✅ Charge e-bikes, e-scooters and large tools outdoors.
