What a difference a day makes!

Despite yesterday's hotter-than-expected inflation report, the bond market is rallying this morning! 🚀

📊 Here's what's happening:

✅ Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS): UP approximately 50 basis points in price!

✅ 10-Year Treasury Yield: DOWN approximately 12 basis points!

🤖 What's driving this? Growing concerns over AI-related spending and debt are rattling the stock market, sending investors toward the relative safety of U.S. Treasury bonds.

🏡 Why does this matter? Stronger mortgage bonds and falling Treasury yields are generally GOOD news for mortgage pricing and could provide some much-needed rate relief!

🇺🇸 The takeaway: Mortgage markets can change quickly! That's why having an experienced mortgage broker monitoring the market matters.

Today's Consumer Price Index (CPI) report showed inflation running hotter than expected, creating additional pressure on the mortgage market. Rates remained the same, but pricing got worse!

📊 Here's the breakdown:

🔴 Annual Inflation: 3.7% (Expected 3.6%)

🔴 Monthly Inflation: +0.6%

🔴 Core Inflation: 2.6% annually, up from 2.4%

⛽ Rising energy costs were a major contributor, with gasoline prices jumping 9.1% in September.
