Important Agency update:
For 89 years and three generations, The David Chapman Agency has had the honor of serving this community. The relationships we have built, and the trust placed in us have meant more than we can fully express. From my grandfather to my parents, and now to me, we've loved seeing our client's families grow, hear their stories, celebrated their lives and being there for the bumps in the road.
With bittersweetness, I am announcing that effective June 15, 2026, The David Chapman Agency will be concluding its operations. While this marks the end of a long and meaningful chapter for our family, it also begins a thoughtful transition with our clients in mind. Of course, not just any company would do- a must have was a local agency, with direct access- not a phone number that takes you to a call center- and knowing you can call or walk in and speak to the same person and pick up on that story you shared last visit.
That being said, I am pleased to share that J. Edward Knight Insurance will be stepping in to continue serving you at our Damariscotta location. J. Edward Knight’s owners, Robert Wheeler and Katie Chilles, along with their team of dedicated insurance professionals, share the same values that our agency holds paramount. We both believe strongly in the importance of quality service to our clients, and commitment to fulfilling all your insurance needs.
With offices conveniently located in Rockland, New Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, Wiscasset, Bath, Vinalhaven, and now in Damariscotta I am confident our client's expectations will be met and exceeded by professionals ready to assist with any policy questions, renewals, or claims. You can expect the same excellent, friendly service, and any policy needs may be met at any of their convenient locations. This also provides local Damariscotta access to their current clientele.
