The Cheney Financial Group team — Cheney Insurance, Newcastle Realty, and Newcastle Vacation Rentals — was happy to come together to support the annual Bangor Savings Bank Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive!

Our team dropped off bags filled with peanut butter and jelly to help support local food-insecurity programs throughout our communities. The drive collects donations throughout September, with the donated items going to food pantries, backpack programs, local shelters, and other organizations helping neighbors in need.

And there's an extra helping of kindness! For every jar donated, Bangor Savings Bank donates an additional jar of peanut butter or jelly to local food-insecurity programs. That means our donations — and the donations of businesses, customers, and community members across the region — can go even further.

We’re proud to have all three CFG companies come together to support an initiative that makes such a simple but meaningful difference in our communities. ❤️

Cheney Financial Group President Hannah Hilton was pleased to be recognized by Anthony Inverso, President of the North American Insurance Alliance (NAIA), in celebration of Cheney Insurance’s first year as a NAIA member in Portsmouth New Hampshire.

Over the past year, NAIA has been a valuable partner to Cheney Insurance, providing our team with education and insight on industry changes, opportunities for growth, best practices, and resources that help us continue to strengthen our agency and better serve our clients.

As an independent insurance agency, having organizations like NAIA in our corner gives us the opportunity to learn from others in the industry, stay informed, and continue looking for ways to grow while maintaining the personal service our clients have come to expect from Cheney.

We are grateful for the partnership and look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and build on the relationship in the years ahead!

Damariscotta Region Chamber Coffee Connect!
Hannah Hilton and Heather McKenna of Cheney Insurance had the pleasure of attending the first Chamber Coffee Connect, hosted by Bangor Savings Bank.
While the numbers were small, the conversations were BIG! It was a great opportunity to connect with other businesses in the region, reflect on what a busy summer it has been, and talk about what lies ahead for our community. And, of course, there was plenty of conversation about the upcoming Annual Pumpkinfest!
Thank you to Bangor Savings Bank and the DRCC for hosting and bringing everyone together. It was a valuable and energizing morning filled with great conversations and connections! And not to mention that the donuts and coffee were a great start to the morning.
We’re looking forward to staying connected and seeing what the next season brings for our region.

It’s the little things that mean so much!

We were so excited to see Stephanie Davis, Sr. Territory Manager with Liberty Mutual, stop by the office to recognize Personal Lines Maisy O’Brien for successfully completing the Liberty Mutual Customer Service Training course.

Stephanie brought Maisy a thoughtful handwritten note and an Amazon gift card to congratulate her on her accomplishment. What a wonderful way to celebrate someone’s hard work and dedication!

Maisy, congratulations on completing your training! And Stephanie, thank you for taking the time to stop in and make Maisy feel so special. We truly appreciate you and our partnership with Liberty Mutual!

Today we remember and we unite.
It’s hard to believe that 25 years have passed. For those of us who remember that morning, it can still feel like yesterday. We remember where we were, who we were with, and the shock of watching something we never could have imagined unfold right in front of us.
Today, we unite to honor the lives that were taken, the families who were forever changed, and the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and countless others who ran toward danger to help others who were trying to escape danger.
But still, the scars and the losses continue. There are families still missing someone at their table. First responders and survivors who continue to live with the consequences of that day. And a generation growing up who knows September 11th only through the stories we tell them.

What a wonderful evening at the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner at Crawford Farm in Warren!

Cheney Financial Group was proud to be a top sponsor of this year’s event, and it was great to have so many of our team members there to support the Chamber and all that they do for our local business community.

We were especially honored to have several members of the Cheney team nominated for this year’s awards:

While we didn’t walk away with any titles this year, we were certainly in some incredible company! The competition was tough, and congratulations to all of the winners—you were absolutely deserving of the recognition.

It was a delicious BBQ spread, followed by an assortment of desserts that made it very hard to choose just one. The band kept our toes tapping, and it was wonderful to catch up with familiar faces and meet some new ones along the way.

A HUGE shout-out to the Damariscotta Region Chamber of Commerce for putting together such a fun evening and for the continued work you do to bring our local businesses and community together. We’re proud to be part of it!

Sugar High… Followed by the Inevitable Sugar Crash!
The Cheney Insurance staff was VERY excited today when a delicious array of cupcakes was dropped off in the office! We may have gotten a little too excited… and by “a little,” we mean there may have been some serious cupcake consumption happening.
The cupcakes were AMAZING. The afternoon productivity levels? Well… let’s just say there was a brief period of “Who needs coffee when you have frosting?” followed by the inevitable “I need a nap!” sugar crash.
But it was absolutely worth it!
Cheney is proud to be a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Sweet Shots for Diabetes and to support an event that raises awareness and funds for such an important cause.
A big thank-you for the cupcakes—and for giving the Cheney team a very sweet afternoon!
