As our country’s debt continues to grow to a never seen amount, with no signs of slowing down, we benefit from properly planning our retirement based on how our debt impacts taxation. The reality is we are now highly unlikely to be in a lower tax bracket when we retire due to many factors. In a recent industry article, it caught my attention of what the potential goal of showing “income” projections for a person’s 401(k) could be... Our major concern is the future of tax rates going much higher due to our country’s overwhelming debt. Converting a 401(k) into lifetime income (100% taxable as ordinary income) will ensure your SS and much of your other income will be taxed at a much higher rate than you would think - for the rest of your life. It is important to look into every impact of every decision when it comes to your retirement income.

One thing officials want to know is whether many inflation-adjusted income annuities really exist.
