Can you design a practice of your dreams?

We often jump into practice and do what we're supposed to or what everyone tells us to do. However, we never step back and ask if it's what we really want. Do you want to see a vast amount of patients a day? Do you want to deal with the headaches of fighting with certain insurance companies just to get paid?

We're not saying a high-volume practice is wrong. However, the practice you're building should be what's right for you.

We recently spoke with a dental practice owner who shared a story that perfectly illustrates a growing issue in dentistry: many patients are paying more for dental insurance than the value they actually receive from it, and many dental practices are losing money because of it.

As costs continue rising, more dentists are starting to ask whether participating in certain insurance plans still makes financial sense for the practice or for patients.
