For You and Your Kids & Your Parents

Hello Again,   Here are two (2) ideas—one for you and your kids (now they're at the age they need a place of their own) and one for your parents:

At the same time, remember that interrest rates are going up, and, depending on which way rates move, every 1/4 point in rate can either save or cost thousands of dollars over a loan's term.  Consequently, buyers who move quickly (and resist the temptation to hope rates will settle back) should do q...

Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs) are popular for a reason.  If you, your parents or someone else you know is over 62 and making financial decisions for retirement, a HECM can be the source of tax-free cash to last the rest of their lives.  Other key benefits include:

In this post and the next we’ll shown two (2) collages of the dogs on the Arlington Shelter EU List. Animals on the Urgent List are held on a day to day basis based on health, behavior and space. They may be humanely euthanized at any time.
___________________________________
To Reserve an animal from the Urgent List:

Please send us an e-mail to [email protected] with the subject line: § Tag from Urgent List

Please include in your email:

• Your Adoption Partner Group Name
• The Animal’s Kennel/Cage # and ID #
• Which of your representatives will be picking up the animal?
• When you will be picking the animal up? (same day as tag or no later than close of business day the following day)
• What other services are being requested, if any, and how payment will be handled.

(rabies $10, dh2pp/bordatella $5.50, fvrcp $2.50, heartworm test $5.50, cat combo test $12.50, microchip $5.50, de-worming $1, frontline/advantage $2)

•If your group is utilizing a transporter that is not a member of your organization, please send your name, address and phone number along with a copy of your driver’s license to request a Transfer Out contract. Scan/E-mail or Fax # 817-459-5698

Adoption Partners should receive a confirmation e-mail. If you do not receive this e-mail, it means that the animal has not yet been tagged for your group.

Adoption Partners must only send people that are on their current “pull lists” so that the correct animal goes to the correct Adoption Partner; if the person is not on the current pull list, please have the president of your group immediately send an email to [email protected], [email protected] stating that you wish to add that person. Please make sure that your representative has the animal’s correct Animal ID # at the time of pick-up.

No Adoption Partner will transfer an animal accepted from AAS to another group (rescue group, agency, organization, shelter, sanctuary etc…) that is not an AAS approved placement partner, without the approval of AAS.
To become an Adoption Partner with Arlington Animal Services, or just to find out more information about placement with Arlington Animal Services, go to http://www.arlingtontx.gov/animals/rescueorganization.html

Transporters are required to have carriers to transport animals in safely especially if they are transporting multiple animals. Transporters without proper containment devices will be turned away.

Groups that wish to utilize transporters that are not members of their group now have the option of completing the Transfer Out Contract. Group member will need to send an e-mail with their complete name, address and phone number and request that the transfer out contract be sent to them. It will need to be scanned and e-mailed back (or faxed) with a copy of the driver’s license of the person signing the contract as the group member. This will remove the responsibility of providing proof of spay/neuter from the people that are just transporters. Transporters will be sent with a copy of this Contract at the time of pick up. They will also sign it as a transporter and provide a copy of their driver’s license just in case there are any issues.

You can review our Adoption Placement Partner Standard Operating Policies and Procedures on our website at anytime.
We have started auditing accounts to be sure that spay/neuter verification have been received on animals that have been transferred. Please get your verifications in, ASAP.
We have started auditing accounts to be sure that spay/neuter verification have been received on animals that have been transferred. Adoption Placement Partners privileges may be suspended for non-compliance of this requirement.

ECHOPOINT’s DOGs 1 – 10 OF THE DAY!

In the order shown, here’s some info about these great pups!

This beautiful boy is Copper. Copper came to us after possibly being hit by a car. He was found and taken to an emergency clinic where he was immediately given meds to treat his condition. He had some swelling in his head which could have been fatal. Lucky for little Copper the clinic had the meds he needed. Because he was a stray the clinic could not do much more for him so they called us. As Copper started to heal, he was not the friendliest boy (but when you are recovering from an accident in a scary place, who is?). He has since warmed up to us and loves to snuggle (as you can see in the picture above!). Copper is now in need of help to find his forever home. He is pretty much recovered from his injury, all we see is a scratch on his head. We think he would do best in a foster home with no children. We are not sure how he is with other dogs…if you are interested please let us know and we will check.

To answer your question…Yes, sweet Milo is still here at the shelter and still needing transfer. If you remember his story, he came to us with a broken lower jaw. To be more specific: a mandibular symphysis fracture. We were able to insert a wire into his jaw which will help his jaw heal properly. The wire will need to be removed but we will do that part He just needs a nice home to heal up in and some help finding his forever home once! Milo is a sweet little boy who loves his bed and loves people. He is a gentle little boy who is ready to be in a loving family!

This adorable face belongs to Sasha. Sasha is a boxer/ridgeback mix. She does not have the popular ridge that the breed has but she just kinda looks like one She is a sweet heart. She is a little shy in her kennel but once you take her out she is playful. She loves attention and being scratched all over! Help her find her happy ending!

DLF101 A783447
This little girl is named Guerita. She was surrendered by her owners because they had too many dogs. She is about 2 months old and is partially housebroken (according to her previous owners). She is a sweet little girl…just a bit shy. She will run to the other side of the kennel but will wag her tail the entire time. She wants the attention she just needs the confidence to come and beg for it! Help Guerita find her inner self and come out of her shell!

DLF22 A783820
This wirey terrier is Teddy! Teddy is just a sweet chubby little boy that would make for a wonderful cuddle buddy on a cold day! Teddy is a medium sized dog and weighs 52.8lbs. He has lots of love to give and is in need of someone to help him. Teddy is heartworm positive Keep in mind that this does not affect how much he will love you!

TAGD13 A780824
This itty-bitty is Cricket! Cricket is a 5lb Chihuahua. She came to us with possible bite wounds on her left shoulder. She has healed up very nicely. One adorable thing about her…look at how she is sitting! Too cute! She also has her fingernails painted pink. This little girl is used to being spoiled! She is ready to get out of the kennel and back to being pampered…her manicure is chipping.

DLF12 A780760, A780763
These two lovely poodles are Mr.Rodgers and Carl. According to their owner, she was unable to housebreak them. They are super sweet and we are hoping to place them together. Carl is heartworm positive so will need treatment. Mr.Rodgers’ and carl’s personalities more than make up for the minor issue of heartworms. You will fall in love with them the first chance you meet them!

DLF82 A784047
This adorable little Brussels griffon mix is Willow. Willow is a sweet little girl but is fearful here at the shelter. She just lays in her bed missing her home. Willow is hoping someone will help her to find a home where she can grow some roots!

DLF11 A783525
This adorable boy is a pyr lab mix. He is about a year old and super sweet. He weighs about 62.4lbs. This big boy is a little shy when you meet him but warms up very quickly. He enjoys being pet and may even give you a smile if you are lucky! He is a very big sweetheart and stole my heart when I met him

FAMGP1 A784139
This monstrous dog is Apollo! He is just an amazing boy! He weighs almost 100lbs! Apollo was surrendered by his owners when they both lost their jobs and could not longer care for him. He is about 2 years. Apollo is possibly house broken but may try to mark in the house (it is hard to tell in the shelter because we have so many smells it can be too tempting ). He loves being outside and is currently enjoying the cold weather and rain we are having in Texas. We had to chase him around once it started raining…he did not want to go inside. We were freezing but he was in heaven!

ECHOPOINT’s GOOD NEWS DAILY!

This is Jolie Justice. She’s suffering from extreme mange (and probably a multitude of other conditions) and has been seen scrounging for food in Oak Cliff for more than a month--that is, until April 25th! The great folks at Duck Team 6 finally captured her, and DFW Rescue Me has taken her into their Justice program.

Jolie's care and recovery will take a long time, and will be costly. As a result, any and all help would be greatly appreciat...ed. So, PLEASE DONAT AT www.dfwrescueme.org/donate, if you can, and let others who might be interested know.
