because you've seen others be approved for home loans with credit scores lower than 700, and it's true you can along with other determining factors...

and while I know homeownership maybe a dream goal that you are eager to reach...Always aim for a higher score, if your score is less than 700, aim for 660 atleast!

Remember your score is just a fraction of the homebuying process, so work with your Loan Officer to see exactly what's expected‼️

Your credit history MATTERS‼️ If you don't have much credit, or if you have more negative accounts than positive don't be surprised if you're asked to obtain a credit card or two, and to keep them in good standing with low balances...you're told this because you may not have enough credit established or you need more.

Having atleast 6 months of strong credit history gives the lenders something to work with in term of how well you pay debt.

3 Credit Myths

-You won't get the chance to build Credit after going through a Bankruptcy because your credit damaged permanently 😒(This is definitely a myth , Bad credit is NEVER permanent...Yes it may time..but there are people who were able to build their credit to 850 after bankruptcy

-You have to pay off the negative accounts reporting to your credit profile in order for it to be removed🤔(This is also a myth, There are some negative accounts that you are able to remove through the credit repair process whether you're working with a company or doing it yourself...every negative account reporting isn't accurate🤷🏾‍♀️ And CAN BE REMOVED without paying a dime‼️

-You don't need a credit card to build credit because your credit score is high without a credit card😔( This is a MYTH, specifically because 30% of your credit score is tailored to utilized credit‼️ While it is true that someone that has no credit, can obtain a personal loan, pay it off and score hike up to a 640-660 but that's because they have NO CREDIT....But if you CANNOT build Credit without a credit card!!!! That's the second largest percentage of your credit score🥴

1️⃣Tip that you can use to help ensure that your credit cards stay active with low balances is to set a small bill like netflix, or any subscription service on a recurring payment to draft each month, and let it automatically be paid each month.

That way it's continuing to be utilized to avoid closure of the account, and it's not being over used.
